About A Star Garage Door Repair
A Star Garage Door Repair has worked on garage doors in Dallas and the eastern metroplex for more than ten years, from a base at 11496 Luna Rd Ste 450 in Dallas. In that time the work has narrowed to a clear conviction: most of what goes wrong with a garage door is understandable, most of it is repairable, and homeowners make better decisions when someone explains the mechanism instead of just naming a price.
What ten years of the same failures teaches you
Garage doors fail in a small number of ways, over and over. Springs reach the end of a counted cycle life. Cables fray where they bend under load at the drum and the bottom bracket. Rollers wear at the stem and put the door out of square. Opener drive gears strip because the door they are moving is no longer balanced. Photo eyes drift out of alignment. Once you have seen each of those a few hundred times across every housing era in this metro, diagnosis stops being a process of elimination and becomes recognition.
Why we lead with the diagnosis
A door that reverses before it touches the floor might have a misaligned photo eye, a close limit set past the slab, a binding roller, or a bottom seal hardened by cold. Four causes, one symptom, and only one of them is fixed by any given repair. Quoting before diagnosing means either guessing or padding, and both are worse for the customer than spending ten minutes finding out. That is the whole reason our estimates are given on site rather than over the phone.
The parts of the job that are genuinely dangerous
We are direct about this because it is true rather than because it is persuasive. A torsion spring on a double door is wound around seven and a half turns and counterbalances more than 200 pounds. The bottom brackets carry the full tension of that system whenever the door is closed. Winding bars that slip out of a cone under load cause hand, wrist, and facial injuries every year. Most maintenance on a garage door is reasonable homeowner work, and we will tell you which parts those are. Spring tension is not one of them.
How we handle the parts of the trade with a bad reputation
The garage door business has a well earned reputation for showing up on a spring call and leaving with a sale for a new door. Our position is simpler: the failed component gets replaced, everything else gets reported with a plain assessment of whether it needs attention now, can wait a season, or is simply worth knowing about. When a door genuinely is past the point of economical repair we say so and show the reasoning, including the numbers on both options.
Where we work
A Star covers the eastern half of the metroplex: Dallas County and the surrounding Collin, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, and eastern Ellis county communities. Keeping the territory tight is deliberate, because service response is a function of how far a truck has to travel, and a wide map on a website usually means a long wait in practice.
What we will not claim
You will not find invented review counts, star ratings, awards, or technician biographies on this site. We have been doing this for more than ten years, we do the work described here, and where we cannot document a claim we leave it off. That is a lower key pitch than most of this industry runs, and it is the one we can stand behind.
